Clearer info in car adverts - EU compilation video

Brussels, Berlin, London, Paris, Rome, Madrid - Car Fuel Efficiency campaigners in 6 European countries took to the streets this summer to ask people about CO2 and fuel consumption information in car advertising.

Most respondents found it hard to read and understand the way the info is currently displayed on car adverts. It’s unclear and unhelpful for people who want to make an informed choice and distinguish fuel-efficient cars from the rest.

If the European Union is serious about wanting to move the car market towards more fuel-efficient cars, they should improve existing legislation to make sure advertisers and car makers better communicate CO2 emissions and fuel consumption in car adverts.

A colour-coded energy-efficiency label proved to be a step in the right direction according to people surveyed.
